Too Obscure For You?

You can’t keep a good man down, and likewise there’s no stopping me from the Spongebob jokes. A rock, Tiki head, and pineapple describe the undersea living quarters of that show’s main characters: Patrick Star(fish), Squidward, and Spongebob respectively. And those of you who get out to the theaters regularly will recognize little Nemo, who was born with one undersized fin. The electric eel is just there to distract you from the larger in-joke.

Metal Gear Solid 2 was, in its day, the most popular game on the Playstation 2. Then people got around to finishing the game proper, and ran up against a great wall of insanity (that, oddly enough, I had no part in). Remember when I said that I didn’t have enough cocaine to explain Evangelion? Well, that problem’s been fixed for MGS2: I’ve read over 400KB of documents detailing the plot, and I have enough heroin syringes to fill my bathtub. Here we go.
